Friday's DancePosted by Anna Fri, July 04, 2014 22:27:02

I’m sure I’ve said it a few times before, but I never tire looking back at footage and pictures of participants on their journey and watching how God works within them and grows them on their journey. As many of you will be aware in May I ran the second of our dance worship training days at Christ’s College, Guildford.

It was such a blessing not only to have use of such a wonderful space, but also to meet lots of new faces! It’s taken a while, but I finally got round to editing together highlights from the day. You may already have seen the movements created from Ephesians 6.10-18 (see it here if you missed it), contrasted with different movements to Psalm 121 where God encourages us to seek support and guidance (remind yourself here). But this week, I have hopefully been able to give you a snapshot of a little bit of everything that we did, and capture how the ladies went on their journey.

When I set out probably around this time last year to start thinking about running these specific dance days, I had no comprehension of what they would really entail, what God would open up to me, or whether anybody would come! With a lot of Living Colour events, uc Grace has had to stand the test, with no body turning up, to a whole host of people turning up. We’re half way through this year, and the new people that I have encountered on my journey, and their journey in dance worship, has been more than I could imagine.

God does work in mysterious ways and one of the delights for me this year is the exciting challenge to find new ways to share and encourage people to grow. Our next dance day in September, will be doing more of that. With the theme ‘Sharing a Passion, Generating Creativity’ it’s all about getting what’s within out, exploring the use of props, and working with different ages, leading dance worship groups and putting together dances to share. As well as hearing other people’s stories and what inspires them. And, not forgetting, the real reason that we do what we do – for God only and no one else. To bring him glory, and help others get there who may be struggling along the way.

So, if you’re about on Saturday 13th September, can get to Soul Survivor Watford, and spend the day 10 – 4pm starting or growing on your journey, we would love to see you. No experience is necessary, young and old welcome, men and women. Get in touch for more info. In the meantime, enjoy the highlights from May – Moving with a Strong Foundation, and have a great weekend!
