Hello! I’m Anna Gilderson a dancer, choreographer and teacher. With a passion for encouraging, growing and releasing others to have fun, be who they are and use their creativity. Dance and movement is at the heart of what I do. It’s an excellent form of communication that crosses boundaries and cultures and talks about things that people may find hard to. I try to cross some of those boundaries in the work that I do. Living Colour Creative is about my desire to develop, share and expand the work I do with uC Grace and my daily life. There are so many times in life where we let things pass us by, rather than realising what’s there! We should be expectant for the things to come, expectant that God will move. My biggest passion is combining my love for dance and movement with my love for faith, challenging people’s journey’s, encouraging them to draw closer to God.

I’m finally getting round to sorting through some of the
dance videos I have (yay), and today I want to share with you about ‘Boldly
approaching the throne’. This was a dance that we explored whilst away on the
dance retreat back in March and was also used at the latest Moving Rainbows
session at the beginning of April.
The main aim was to consider how we approach the throne, how
we can be in fellowship with another, supporting one another and have a time
just dancing together.
I find it incredible to see how God speaks movements to
individuals that mould together into a dance to demonstrate his love,
compassion and steadfastness.
At the retreat we did a lot of work in groups that helped to
emphasise different bits of the verses, and use layers of movements such as
canon, freezes and unison. We wanted to demonstrate the connection in movement
(having contact with another person during the movement as much as possible),
as a reflection of how we can keep connected with God, but recognise that
sometimes even if we loose connection, it can be found again.
In Moving Rainbows we encouraged each child to think about
the words of the song, to stand, lie, balance and turn in the first verse,
before coming together in groups in the second and use flags in the 3rd.
But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1.7
The bit that I feel is really important in this dance is the
chorus, moving forward together, welcoming one another before the throne and
being free in it. Check out Hannah and Janes face as they spin round at the
Do you boldly approach the throne?
Why not take a breath, walk forward and smile, and choose
someone to do it with!

Workshops and EventsPosted by Anna Sun, April 20, 2014 21:27:53 Today is Easter Sunday. A real celebration in the Christian calender and probably a day I love more than Christmas Day. I find it so exciting, and today was just as exciting as ever, as the group Blurred Edges, one of our SEED groups were performing at Guildford Baptist Church their first dance. They had done two previous performances in the preceding couple of weeks in other places of a dance called Oceans, but this was the first time they were doing something actually in the church service.
I felt really honoured to be there and see it, was quite a change from being involved, but so much enjoyable, and I was so excited for them. They performed with a live band and choir, I managed to get a few pictures, the one I love the most is the seniors pastors response when they did a small lift. See if you can spot it, I've zoomed in as much as possible. The service was very busy, but I managed to sneak in and find a pot right a the back. Got the video too, so that will make an appearance at some point soon!
April is zooming up really quickly and there are still lots of spaces on the Treasure and Truth dance and movement retreat that is happening at the end of April and we need you to help us to get the word out.
I took a step of faith organising and putting the retreat into place, people said they wanted it, and I felt God nudging me to do it. So now I have a little plea, I really need YOU to help me spread the word and encourage people to come. I truly believe that God is speaking and opening up people's hearts to come, but some people just need a few more nudges and encouragements!
So here's a bit more inside information about the weekend and what we are going to be getting up to!
Who is is for? It is for anyone who has a passion for their faith and worship. You can have lots of experience of dance or no experience. Men and women are welcome and so are young people (get in touch for a specific price if under 18 years).
What will we be doing? The precise full programme is still to be set, but is likely to include an evening workshop/ meeting on Friday and Saturday morning, free time/ reflection space and some optional workshops on Saturday afternoon, and then a further workshop/ meeting on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We hope to have some people join us for live worship on the Sunday morning where we also take communion together. There will be a mixture of taught dance and space to create own, with individual and groups tasks. Come with an open heart to let God heal, restore and bring peace. There will also be a prayer/ movement space that will hopefully be open 24/7.
Where is it happening? Kings Park Conference Centre, Kings Park Road, Northampton, NN3 6LL. Accommodation is in twin rooms, although if you would like a single room this available at a supplement.
When is it happening? Friday 25th April until Sunday 27th April. You can arrive and register from 4pm on the Friday, with the weekend beginning with an evening meal at 7pm.
How can I get there? There is plenty of parking at the centre for your car. The nearest train station is Northampton which is 1 hour from Birmingham New Street or London Euston. There is also a minibus going to and from Guildford with limited spaces.
How much does it cost? The good news is that you can still access the early bird price of £175, just tell us how you found out about the retreat!
Please do spread the word, we would love to see you there. Get in touch if you have any questions and of course if you want to book! Email - email@example.com or Phone - 07920 405512
